Hi, my name is Nicky….
...and I am 35 years old. I am married with two young boys and have a pet dog. We live in a detached house in a quiet part of the Frietuna Estate in Kirby Cross/Frinton on Sea. We have a large, private garden which is not overlooked and is directly accessible from our recently built playroom.
I qualified as a primary school teacher in July 2008 after completing a three-year teaching degree at Roehampton University, specialising in Early Years and Key Stage 1. Since then I have worked in mainstream schools, experiencing all year groups before finding my niche in Reception where I have spent the past 7 and a half years. I loved every minute spent in the classroom, planning for, and delivering a range of activities across the curriculum to engage, inspire and challenge all children.

Since becoming a Mum in 2015, I have embraced the ‘baby’ years, and enjoyed every minute watching my own two sons grow up and learn new skills. I am a keen photographer and love to take photos to document their achievements. My second son was born in October 2017. This is when I decided to pursue my career as a childminder. I am passionate about early education and the wellbeing and enjoyment of children and feel that, with my previous experience, I can offer children a great start in their learning journey; in particular, helping them to learn key skills needed to become ‘school ready’.
At Tiny Town, I offer a safe and welcoming environment which provides stimulating and enriching experiences for your child to learn, thrive and grow. My rationale for calling my business ‘Tiny Town’ is that I will endeavour to set up and deliver learning each day as I would in my early years classroom. Daily opportunities around the Three Prime, and Four Specific Areas of the Early Years curriculum will be on offer to the children in my care.
In addition, I provide wrap around care for school aged children. This includes drop off and pick ups for Hamford Primary Academy, and school holiday places.
